Launched in September 2002, the Road Users' Alliance aims to secure sustained investment in the UK road network. Each year, road users contribute to the Treasury over £40 billion in taxes, yet roads have been neglected by successive governments.

Britain's network of major roads has increased by just 0.6% - under 200 miles (316kms) - in the last 10 years. This is despite an additional 5.5 million cars and vans travelling an extra 51 billion passenger kilometres.

RUA supports the development of an integrated transport system, providing plans include adequately upgrading our road network which carries 92% of all passenger travel.
